The Centaurus Mall is an impressive high-rise structure that enhances the skyline of Islamabad, Pakistan. This mixed-use real estate development offers a range of amenities and facilities to cater to various needs. Crafted by the esteemed British architectural firm WS Atkins, the magnificent Centaurus development in Islamabad, Pakistan, stands tall with its impressive features. This grand project encompasses a well-designed four-story shopping mall, a luxurious five-star hotel, two residential towers, and a corporate tower housing corporate offices, residential apartments, and a hotel. Notably, the Centaurus Mövenpick Hotel, currently under construction, was anticipated to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2018. With an estimated cost of US$100 million, this remarkable complex boasts over 250 shops within its four-story mall, offering a diverse and vibrant shopping experience.

Within the premises of the Centaurus Mall, visitors can indulge in various entertainment options. For children, there is a delightful play area called “Fun City,” offering a range of engaging activities. Additionally, movie enthusiasts can enjoy the latest offerings from Lollywood and Hollywood at “The Centaurus Cineplex,” a state-of-the-art movie theater. Situated on the fourth floor of the mall, both the play area and the cinema provide an enjoyable and immersive experience for visitors.

It features a selection of both local and international fast food chains, catering to a wide range of tastes. Furthermore, throughout the mall, visitors can find various international coffee shops, offering a delightful respite for coffee lovers.

To manage crowd control, Centaurus Mall has introduced a new system whereby visitors are required to purchase an entry coupon, which can be offset against their purchases on the same day. A public notice has outlined the categories exempt from purchasing these entry coupons, encompassing various groups. These include all women and children under 12, senior citizens, lawmakers, executives, diplomats, foreigners, journalists, lawyers, members of country clubs, registered engineers, doctors, and teachers. The notice further specifies that renowned players of hockey, cricket, football, and golf, as well as celebrities, are also exempt from purchasing the entry coupon.

On October 9, 2022, a fire incident occurred at the shopping center within Centaurus Mall. The fire, which occurred during lunchtime, was visible from outside the building, with social media reports capturing flames in the food court area. The Capital Development Authority promptly responded to the situation, and after approximately two hours, they declared the fire to be under control. As a precautionary measure, the shopping center and neighboring residential structures were temporarily closed for a comprehensive structural assessment. The fire originated in the Monal restaurant and was reported at around 4 pm. Thanks to the diligent efforts of firefighters, the fire was successfully extinguished, minimizing significant damage to the interior. Navy and Air Force personnel also contributed to the cooling process of the building.
